HOME DELIVERED MEALS
Popularly known as "meals on wheels," this service is designed to deliver nutritious, well balanced meals to home-bound older people unable to shop for or prepare their own meals.

Seniors requiring extra nutrition beyond the lunch meal also may receive frozen evening or weekend meals.  Breakfast is available as a second meal for those who are in need.  Often providing the only social contact a senior has on a daily basis, dedicated volunteers deliver hot lunch meals in twenty-five communities.

SENIOR DINING SITE MEALS
Housed in senior centers, senior apartment complexes and other conveninet locations, the dining site provides satisfying and nutritious meals as well as offering seniors the opportunity to meet old friends and make new acquaintances through socialization, a key element of the senior dining site program.  Activities such as bingo, games, exercise and crafts are frequently offered at the dining sites.  Most dining sites are open Monday through Friday, although some are only open three days per week.  Reservations for meals are made the day before.

OTHER SERVICES
Other nutrition services available include nutrition screening, assessment counseling and education.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
All persons 60 years and older and their spouse are eligible for nutrition services.  People under age 60 with disabilities and who reside at home with an eligible senior are also eligible.  The home-delivered meals are available to those who are home-bound and over the age of 60.

WHAT IS THE COST OF THE MEALS?
The nutrition program is available to all older people in the community regardless of income level.  No one price for meals would be right for everyone.  Because of this, confidential voluntary contributions are accepted.  A suggested contribution of $3.00 per meal is requested although no one is denied service if they cannot pay.  The actual cost of the meals is $4.75.
